Zee's Recipe of the Month: Pumpkin Donuts
September 1st: BOOM! I woke up and all I could think about were pumpkin donuts — no matter the heat outside.
Mind you, just down the road from my house is an apple orchard with a farm store that bakes fresh honey spice donuts daily that we LOVE. And I could have gotten in my car and gone to buy some. But noooooo.
I just got it in my head that I was going to attempt baking them fresh at home, felt the energy to do it, and I just happened to have a new can of pumpkin in the cupboard. So the stars aligned.
I searched the internet for a recipe and pulled a random one to try. THIS ONE.
Yum, yum. It truly hit the spot! So I can say this was tried and true. I actually have one silicone donut pan that only makes 8, and with the rest of the batter I used muffin tins.
All turned out perfectly. I did try the butter, cinnamon, and sugar topping because my hubby loves that. But I prefer thick cream cheese frosting and just happened to have a partial used tub of it in the fridge (thank you Fall gods).

Zee's Cats Photo of the Month
On any given day, you'll find me slaving away in my writing cave/office writing all the books.
Meanwhile, Mister Cat seems to think he's the boss and reminds me of that often. He's usually sprawled across my desk while I occupy one little corner of it.
As for Little Miss, she's usually around but not visible—until eating time. Then, because she's so quiet as a mouse—I'll suddenly look over and there she is staring at me. I have no idea how long she sits there waiting for me to notice or dart my eyes away from the book I'm writing on my computer. But she's very sweet.
Anyway, that's us. I also get some wonderful tech assistance from my adult children and my mother. All aiding me with various tasks here and there. My Mom and aunt recently attended book shows with me and were incredible sales people on my behalf.
This business is fun, but can be a lot. I try my best! Thanks for joining along on my author journey. Your support of me and my author business means so much!
